I have a picture that i would like to be shown on the "View Record" to the right of all my other info.
Using this I can get it in the correct place but not with it spanning down
$col["formoptions"] = array("rowpos"=>"1", "colpos"=>"2", "colspan"=>"7");
How do I add the correct column span?

I don't understand your question correctly.
You can try setting custom css on <img> tag.
e.g.
$col["default"] = "<img style='position:absolute; right:0' src='…'>";
Please share screenshot of your expected view.
