I have a grid that displays order header information.  There is a subgrid for each line that displays the order detail (ex. items). I want to be able to give the users an option to show only order headers that contain a specific item.  Is there a way to do this?

You can use hyperlinks to specific filter and use URL based filtering feature as shown in v2.6 demo:
