after i include the language js, js/jqgrid/js/i18n/grid.locale-es.js (español) the calendar and delete|edit|save labels continue to be in English.
Is there something I can do to show those labes and the calendar in spanish

Hello,
For labels of edit|save|delete you can goto file jqgrid_dist.php and search / replace these strings.
For calendar locale change, visit http://api.jqueryui.com/datepicker/ (search localization) and follow it's steps
