Hi I am using $grid["autowidth"] = true; , all my columns are squeezed. I tried the solution in the last post but it does not work. My table has over 50 columns.

I would like to keep the width of the grid window auto and the width of the column as auto

Try shrinktofit to false.
$grid["shrinkToFit"] = false;
$g->set_options($grid);

this makes the columns have a fixed width
some of the column width is too wide for the text and some are still squeezed (the one with longer data strings)

By default, all columns width are equally distributed if not defined.
You can specify some column's width to fixed, rest will go auto.
